About Lachie

Lachie was a truly gorgeous 10-year-old boy who had an amazing fun-loving, smart, thoughtful, generous and kind approach to life.

He was passionate about sport, especially cricket, and enjoyed nothing more than bowling and batting at the local nets with his Dad. He was also a keen golfer, surfer and loved rugby union, league and soccer.

Lachie played cricket for the Peninsula Cricket Club, rugby for the Collaroy Cougars, league for the Beacon Hill Bears and soccer for Collaroy Cromer Strikers. As a keen sporting supporter he passionately followed the Manly Sea Eagles, NSW Waratahs, the Australian Cricket Team and the Sydney Swans.

From Kindy to year 4 Lachie attended Wheeler Heights Primary School, leaving in 2014 to attend Northern Beaches Christian School (NBCS) as his chosen high school. At these schools had great mates and fantastic teachers who provided amazing support throughout his 6 month battle.

Lachie and his younger sister Jaime shared an incredibly close and loving relationship. He was a caring and protective big brother and his sister truly adored him from the moment she was born. One of Lachie’s last wishes was to buy his sister a necklace from his own money so she would know just how special she was to him. She treasures this gift close to her heart along with all of the special memories and moments they shared together.

Both Tanja and Brendan, Lachie’s parents were extremely proud of the kind hearted, thoughtful, happy boy he was. Brendan was his idol. He shadowed him everywhere from a young age and followed in Brendan’s footsteps with his passion for sports and his gentlemanly ways. Together they always ensured that their girls, Tanja and Jaime, were looked after.

Like most families do, they loved spending weekends just relaxing and hanging out together, attending all the sporting events and going to the beach. Camping holidays in Australia were some of their favorite times spent together where riding bikes, skate boarding, beach cricket and surfing filled the days, these times provided them with the purest pleasure and quality time together with family and friends
